Archaeolympics 2016

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology hosted its second prehistoric extreme skills competition on the lawn between Loser and Business. They brought history to life through activities that our paleolithic human ancestors relied on for daily survival. In teams of five students they competed in spear-throwing (Atlatl), rope making (Cording), stone tool creation (Flint Knapping), cobble tossing, fire starting, and pottery shard artifact recreation.

In case you missed it, the 2016 Archaeolympics has received some great coverage on campus and off.
