During undergrad, I was interested in urban planning but was not totally set on where I wanted to be after graduation. However, I did know that I wanted to be in the environmental field.

Working in project management, specifically environmental project management, it is crucial to recognize how a transportation construction/maintenance/enhancement project will affect the community, specifically environmental justice communities. Learning the needs of the community to provide adequate accommodations such as a safe school route for pedestrians/cyclists, sidewalks, traffic signal upgrades, bicycle lanes, ADA improvements, etc. Also, to understand the demography so that when a new construction project is being presented, the information is accessible.
My favorite major memory came from my Climate Change and Society course where my group created and mobilized a campaign for TCNJ to acquire its own shuttle.
The advice I would give my undergraduate self is to connect more with people in the fields I aspire to be in. To Interview these individuals and create a greater opportunity to tailor my undergraduate experience to my future aspirations aside from the experiences I attained through courses and internships.
