Clinical social worker
Speech Pathologist in a nursing home
As an SLP I need to look at the whole patient, not just their speech/language needs. Having a sociology background helps me take a holistic approach to treatment. I can look at how I can help my patients at the family/system level as opposed to just the individual person.
Going to the Eastern Sociology Society (ESS) annual conference in NYC with my Sociology friends.
Trust yourself and your decisions! There are so many great paths you can take with a SOC/ANT major. I had one plan in mind for most of my undergraduate career, but decided to go to grad school for speech when I was a senior. It could have been easy to stick with my original plan, but trusting myself and my decision making has led my to a career I love.
